Amber Yost recieved terrible news one evening about her son as her life changed drastically. Her 3 year old baby was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma cancer. After the first couple weeks of dealing with the devastating diagnosis, she found that strength in numbers was the fuel needed for the journey ahead. She was fortunate enough to have family and friends and researched clinical trials, alternative medicines, and immunotherapy. The family felt comfortable with their treatments, doctors, and plan for immunotherapy. However, she wanted to do MORE to help families in similar situations in their time of distress. Amber decided over everything she hoped to accomplish, realized baby steps were best. What did Amber really need the first weeks at the hospital? A care pack was an obvious solution because being too frazzled by unfortunate turn of events, parents probably didn't bring their soap or deodorant from home. Amber also decided that an accurate digital thermometer would be a great item to have in the care pack as well, due to the importance of catching high temperatures as soon as possible to notify the hospital of complications in treatment and P.A.C.C. was born.
